For over 40 years, Lakeland Cultural Arts Center in Littleton, North Carolina has served as a beacon of creativity, entertainment, and community engagement. The organization was founded in 1977 by Mark E. Taylor and a group of dedicated investors. Taylor served as Executive Director until his passing in 1990.

Throughout its history, Lakeland has been a catalyst for introducing countless individuals of all ages to the arts and the transformative experience of being on stage. The appointment of Wally Hurst as Managing Director in 1997 brought fresh energy and expertise to the organization, as did the hiring of John DuVall as Artistic Director in 2018.
